A nice and fresh strawberry rhubarb pie with a tall glass of ice tea mmmmmmmhmmmmm
or deep dish apple pie right out of the oven (with or without the ice cream) and a steaming hot fresh brewed coffee

Savory pies are not part of our Mexican cuisine. However, some sweet pies are.
The best would be my pineapple pie with a very thin crust.
The beverage would be a "pot" coffee. Let me explain before someone gets ideas.
Café de la olla = "pot" coffee
It is made in a clay pot preferably with some -coffee of course-, molasses, cinnamon and cloves the spice.
Te sweetness of both has to be light, I do not enjoy too sweet things.
That pineapple pie brings back lovely memories from my childhood.

My mother use to make Rubarb pie without strawberries. I never heard of putting strawberries in Rubarb pie until I was 20 something. I never could understand why anybody would want to ruin a Rubarb pie by putting strawberries in it.

The best pie you'll ever have, is my own Pumpkin pie adapted from the 1920 "Settlement Cookbook" made with real pumpkin, (not canned) my own free range eggs, raw milk, and my own blend of spices. My Pumpkin pie makes ANY store bought pie taste like cardboard.

My favourite is Pork Pie. Now there are pork pies ... and pork pies. The best one I had was made with a little mustard in the meat.
