humph Wash, I did ask my technies if I could run my external as the primary hard drive (it already has win 7 os on it) plus all my other programmes, but because of the age of my dinosaur and the cpu, ram, etc... they said its a little involved...in other words, they didn't want to do it... I was going to bite the bullet and just purchase a new hard drive, but when they told me how much the new ram was going to cost me for ddr1, oh yeah old technology is bloody expensive... I decided against that idea...

Also found out the that the college lappy is arriving with win 8 os - oh goody gum gum, I am jumping with friggin glee. NOT!!! So I have decided to take the easy option, purchase a new hard drive and have 7 loaded on to it...

but in the meantime, thanks to RobP, I can now access my onedrive online, I forgot I even had it, as I use it to store my family history stuff...and I haven't touched that in the last 6 or so months...

and I have recently found out that their is a camping, caravan show at Mudgeereeba this year... and I want to check that out - fell in love with one caravan that I saw at the classics car show... $100 000 - it certainly lived up to house on wheels - I wonder if I can pinch a mates 4Wd to tow it...rofl

Trouble with techies these days is that most are "Plug & Play" and have no understanding of machinery. A bit like mechanics these days.

If you are using external hard-drives with programmes already installed, surely a modest laptop with appropriate RAM and CPUs (preferably expandable) would suffice. A lot of "techno-savvy" people are updating their comps every year or more often and a lot of fairly new ones are available. Try eBay (could not find an emoticon with finger down throat) or Gumtree. Or look out for the Aldi computers, reputedly to be top quality.

And a $100,000 caravan...it would want to drive itself at that price.dunno I have seen some very fancy caravans, etc in my travels. I like my creature comforts but I also want to go to the good places that most of them can't get to.

The caravan which resembled a shiny stainless steel bullet was imported from the states... need I say anymore?

As for the acer, honestly, I am not going to do anything more to it - the college laptop should be here within the next 2 weeks, and it has everything installed and bonus, it will be faster than the dinosaur...
as patience is not a virtue I have in spades...(sarcasism)lol

Also found out that particular camping and caravan show was flooded out, but it's on at the RNA showgrounds this weekend...plus it's closer to home... yippee...!! Who knows I might win my new home on wheels...rofl, just got to figure out where to park the damn thing...
