snowlynx: On a serious note L, does anyone at all believe in an interventionist god anymore? Wouldn't say so.

In short i dont know, but seeing the turnout of a sunday in my parish, you cant move for people going to mass, so, i would assume the belief and conviction is strong in the followers, or, is it the fear of being found wanting in the here-after....interventionist, not a term im familier with, but if the fear of not finding a place in the 'prescribed idea' of heaven is not by its very own nature being interventionist, im not sure what is....

Grew up in a rural place myself so not too surprised by that but don't underestimate the social side of it for getting people to go.

I guess being part of an established religion has always had a bit to do with the social side?
Being part of a collective/group of fellow followers is a major part of it.
