What are the films you feel you should have seen because they were so bit, but haven't got around to?
Brokeback Mountain - Never grabbed me. Schindler's List - I think I'm probably too scared to watch this. The Great Gatsby - I know it was a huge hit, but Leonardo DiCaprio leaves me cold.

Do not watch the Great Gatsby. The first one was boring as s**t, the second one is just as boring, which makes you wonder what the book was like.

Agreed
I watched it ages ago and to be honest the only thing I remember about it was that Gatsby was supposed to be great for reasons I can't remember and he threw a party in his big house.
I supose the only thing memorable about it is that it was unmemorable.

When you see Schindler's List, you should see The Pianist... another brilliant movie.

Brokeback Mountain is my fave movie
But re your question, I tend to back away from 'big' movies as most seem to have 'big' names in them who are then totally unbelievable in the roles they play.
And nine times out of ten those movies end up being 'big' flops.
jem1964: I am actually watching the remake of King Kong at present, not that I have ever seen the original
I thought the remake of a remake was actually good. Having Kong look more like a gorilla instead of a guy in a suit, made the feature more believable. The fight scenes were fantastic. I say remake of a remake, because the original was like in the early 1930s or around that time, and then there was the better version in 1978, from memory. Stared Jeff Bridges. I usually don't like hype movies, unless I am right into the franchise, like The Hobbit or the Lord of the Rings. One I watched recently, which I wasn't sure if it was going to live up to my expectations, was the reboot of Robocop. Worth the watch if you liked the original.

I suggest you get the DVD , there's a dvd sold here with it about the movie that is spell binding . There is also a dvd showing the real hanging of the camp commander on U-Tube made by the Russians . after watching the little girl in the red coat and where her coat turns up , the U-Tube clip won't worry you at all , you might even watch it again .

Cate in Blue Jasmine is fanastic, but it is a typical Woody Allen film. I found, and most of the group I was with, I was just getting into the movie when... it ended..
but even with that unfinished ending, Cate did a great portrayal.
