Even though i was born in Chch NZ,im still Irish by blood and can move there whenever i want to and im bi-lingual,i speak gaelic aswell.The history over there is amazing.

Oh... you lucky thing... I missed going to Ireland .. but I do mean to... except from what I hear.. it has been raining a lot recently.. now that would bother me ... but the green everywhere would be a treat...

But I guess... to have history, you need to go overseas.. because ours is not much here..

I was lucky that i went there in their summer and the weather was awesome,its never to late to travel there.

A word of priceless advice to anyone thinking of travelling to Ireland:

Try to speak to someone from each province (we only have 4). They will tell you the best places to go, not the travel guides.

Dunlop, I think I love you a little bit.....born outside our country, but you actually seem to "get" us cheers

Thanks for the compliament Glengirl,even though my tour was structured,in our free time we had,i visited the small local pubs and just chatted with the locals and the stories the old guys would tell,you could sit there for hours,my da was from County Down,so i can relate to anything Irish...and i loved my tour through the Guinness Storehouse...Slainte cheers

I hope you got to visit Down, that's where you would really hear stories laugh

I get quite/very passionate when talking about my country and it really pisses me off when I see uninformed/uneducated people giving an opinion on us.

I will leave it at that, as this thread was actually quite nice until around post #25 (not that I'm counting or anything laugh)
