I would like to think that his "ministry" will die with him. Unfortunately, there will more of his followers to rise in his ranks.
They attempted to bring their hate to central Missouri a couple of months ago, against a University of Missouri football player who announced he was gay.
A circle of students surrounded the campus, not allowing the Westboro through. Gotta love Missouri.

It is extremely important for all Americans to remember, and respect, the rights of all, including those we disagree with, in any degree. However, there are reasonable parameters for this freedom: One does not stand up and cry out their religious or political doctrines in an office or movie theater. It's about being disruptive. And protesting at a funeral because of one's convictions is disruptive. It is the wrong venue, and there are viable alternatives. City council meetings, peaceful protests at the courthouse, etc...

His daughter, is a firebrand. She's got some mouth on her. No doubt she will continue. And she is not clueless. I believe she's an attorney and very clever in ways.

Our forefathers were clever men. Separation of Church and State.
galrads: they did that mostly to protect the State(s) from people like Fred Phelps.
I wonder now and then, what would they think of us right now if they could come back. What would they change? What would they uphold? What would they think, "Wow! That's great!"
So much has changed, but the basic principles on which the constitution was founded still are true and current. Amazing men they were. Considered traitors and much loss of lives and property because of what they did, for us.
fred had the courage to fight the queers......he spoke against the bush-engineered 911......as far as soldiers who kill women and kids in foreign countries for the benefit of boeing, Remington, du pont stockholders and the war money machine......they were not forced to join.....they wanted to kill.......'what if they gave a war and nobody came....?'.......his only fault was his obsession with the idea that women's bodies are not their own possession- but belong to wild-eyed nutsy super Christians who think that humans are somehow sacred and that females must obey and suffer pregnancy and a life of rug rats and misery.......
This guy got to ride the Express Elevator to Hell. This guy had NO CLUE to the word RESPECT! He deserved to go to Hell.... and on the way down, may he see how black his soul is.

Yep, what a great social experiment our constitutional republic has been. We've seen a lot of good, and bad. Hopefully we can put some birth defects behinds us and stay on the right path to better days.
and be happy that you don;t - no loss there - there is nothing Christian about him or the behavior of his followers spewing their venom. That church is a good example of the lunacy involved in religious cult followings....he was fruit loops and not in a good way

exactly our rule of law prevents religious extremism from gaining a foothold and causing the problems it does in other countries. It also allows anyone here to practice their own religion sincerely as long as they obey civil law "render unto ceasar..."

There are still Americans who follow his line of thinking, God save us from America.
