As GM maybe Jim Nill. I heard rumours about George McPhee which would be cool. I like Doug Maclean. Kurtenbach isn't even involved in hockey right now so he wouldn't be a candidate. I think the front runner is Jim Benning. I'm hoping Pat Quinn will be an advisor. Good move to have Linden as President!
As for coach I would like to see Torts go. I never liked him. I wouldn't want Crawford back. Been there, done that. As for coaches, I'm not sure. Haven't heard many names yet. I don't want Trotz that's for sure. Stan Smyl would be cool but not sure he's in the running.

I'd like to see Torts given one more year.With all the bad trades by Mike Gillis,the handling of Shneider and Luongo,the injury to Burrows,Booth,and the Sedins,Torts wasn't givin a fair chance to coach with a healthy contingent of players and all the bad moves by Gillis.Sounds like Jim Bennings gonna be GM or maybe luring Cam Neely out of Boston for GM.
Gillis made awful trades. We had decent goal tending for pretty much the whole year but we did suffer a lot of injuries. Up until the other night as he was given a night off, only Garrison played every game this season. You are correct Torts didn't have much to work with with the injuries but he didn't seem to motivate the healthy ones that were in the lineup. I know certain players being out sometimes affects the chemistry of certain lines though. There were some stretches esp in the beginning where we didn't have as many injuries. The point production of the Sedins was the lowest in years. Ideally he probably should be given more time but I just don't like what I see so far. If he stays it will be OK I guess but I'd be happier with someone else. I don't know if Torts is Linden's style of hockey.

If Torts get fired I'd like to see Jaques Demers,or Ken Hitchcck(if they can lure him away) as coach,Doug MacLean,or maybe even Doug Riseborugh as GM.
Being from Alberta,....and a life-lomg Habs fan,....the best VC fan would be who they have right now,....

Barry Trotz: Has plenty of experience coaching in Nashville. Good with players, good system, defensive minded too.
Tortarelli (Sure I spelled his name wrong?) Should've been fired, long before this...never did well in New York either. Can you imagine him on TSN on the panel discussing hockey, when he doesn't know much about it. Very bad behaviour as well...get him out of hockey now, into some other kind of work.

Doubt very much you would be able to lure Hitchcock from the Blues. I think he's quite happy there. They weren't a great team for quite a few years and he turned it around in one year. Just the last couple years he hasn't gotten past the first round in the playoffs but you can't expect they will right away.

Trotz? I don't want him. Nashville Pretators hockey is very boring to watch. Wouldn't want to see that here. The players we have now don't suit that style either.

Hiring Torts was another bad move. Almost as bad as when we had Keenan who ran Linden out of town.
Also heard earlier this week that Linden was in Boston to talk to Benning. I'll be thrilled if we get him as GM.
I wouldn't get rid of the Sedins. Don't see it happening either. I think Linden will keep most of the core together. Maybe trade 1 possibly 2 guys from the core and then build around them. We need a #1 goalie. Lack doesn't have the stamina to play the amount of games Luo did. I heard he was quite exhausted by the end of the season (hardly having any energy in the day) taking over for Luo. He didn't even play in the last 3 games.

Sounds like Torts is getting fired today,so Linden has to hire a new GM and that GM will pic his own coach.Lot of player moves during the off season as well I suspect.Hopefully not as dumb and foolish like Gillis did.Shuld be a very interesting next year.
I've been hearing the last couple days Benning will be the new GM. It will probably be announced in the next week or so. I'm happy about that! Tonight I heard Trotz is the front runner as coach. I don't like that! He coaches defensive style hockey which is so boring. 
I'd hate to see that here. :( I'd be a bit surprised if Linden wanted that kind of style here but I should expect anything I guess. Trotz was in Nashville for 17 years and wasn't in the playoffs most years and when he was he didn't get past the first round......

I thought about Don Hay coming here as he's done so well in Junior hockey and he's a hometown guy from Kamloops but he recently signed there with the Blazers.
I think maybe they should get Ryan Miller. When Lack took over from Luongo by the end of the season he was spent and he really didn't play a ton of games. The Sportsnet or CBC guys said he hardly had any energy left on game days. I don't know if he has the endurance yet to play 50-60 games. There was high expectations on Miller with St. Louis. Anaheim and San Jose were interested in him but because St. Louis didn't go far in the playoffs now I hear they aren't. I don't think Markstrom has a lot of playing experience as a back up either. So I feel we are a bit weak in the goalie position.

Its Gillis'fault that two No 1 goalies,Luongo and Schnieder are both gone.Thats one of the reasons Gillis is gone with all the dumb trades he made.I don't think Torts should have been fired.He was given a team that Gillis screwed up.I don't think theres any better coaches available right now.Torts was a no nonsense,stick up for your players and team.He won the cup in Tampa Bay.That was Lindens first mistake.
