So, Pat Whelan and Willie McAteer avoid prison as judge says it would be incredibly unjust.

This country only gives out prison sentences to those stealing jeans from Dunne's.

Banana Republic.

The bigger the crime, the less time spent. No difference in the o6c..

I reckon McAteer and Whelan could sucessfully appeal their convictions in the appeal courts, the Judge Nolan seemed to almost imply he believed they were inoocent judging by his comments in the sentencing phase.

Well in fairness, you couldn't expect these two top guys to slum it with the riff raff cleaning pathways on canals and scrubbing graffiti off walls with common thugs and criminals who were convicted for brawling in the street or selling a 10 euro pack of knock off cigs for a fiver.

Like really, when you think about it, bankrupting an entire country and enslaving generations of the working people of a republic to pay off your sordid, greed inspired, corrupt little acts of unscrupulous, spineless attempts to cover your immoral fat asses, doesn't warrant public humiliation guys.laugh

sirLarryIII: This is the nature of Paddyland
Cant wait till they run the luas line all the way to Cork with a stop every half mile with no toilets on board of course.Only twenty years of major roads disruption and a 10000000000Euro bill to the tax payer.Sure it be worth it in the end

It's not the nature of "Paddyland" its the nature of those at the top who are helped by those that claim "why vote , we can't change anything and they are all the same."
The latter keep the status Quo going as much as those at the top.

stanley8m: Heavens no, I won't be bothering the councillors with all that national debt and bank crisis rubbish, when there is a pothole on the road needs filling in, and I need planning permission for an extension.

Back to the Anglo case and the 2 gurus McAteer and Whelan. Will the DPP appeal the leniancy of the sentence that those 2 boyos will most likely receive at the end of July.
