As a child, did your parents tell you lies? Example...a lady said that when she was a little girl, her parents would take her to the Memorial Day parade, when it fell on her birthday. Her mom would tell her that the parade was a celebration of her birthday; which of course, made her happy. She finds out later on in life, that her parents didn't have a lot of money to celebrate her birthday. Please share.

Sure it just a harmless white lie to give their daughter something special and make her feel special as a child which it did.Instead of disappointing her due to lack of money they did the best they could under the circumstances.

Agree! Did your parents ever tell you any white lies?
I lived with my grandmother and of course my room was always messy. One day she said my closet was a rat's nest. I truly believed it, as if she would have tolerated a rat in her home. I did clean up my room after that.
My sweet aunt told me I was born with six toes. She even reinforced it with shock that my mother hadn't told me. I believed it for years and eventually found out it wasn't true.

Ones we wanted to jump from the very high roof of our house onto a snowy ground. In that moment my mum saw us and then the instante shock got her. She told us wait....wait.... I wanna jump with you too....pls wait.... she came on the roof and after talking with us in the kindness and playing way possible she got us back from the edge of the roof and later we had one of those smaks that I still remember

When driving past ToysRUs...my boys, when little, would cry to go to the store. I would always tell them...we can't because Santa is in there now shopping for your Christmas gifts. It worked every time.
