there are so many things that money gets wasted on in the Uk...if you weighed it up, the amount of tourism they bring, may surprise you...lets look at Amazon uk..only 4 million in tax..from billions in revenue ...wh the thieves ?

Root and branch traditionalism, the Royals are constant when nobody else in the country can be trusted. I'm glad the Monarchy are one aspect of British and tradition the Boomer criminals didn't tear to pieces - the Royals are more popular now than they've been for decades(especially amongst the young).
There's more to life than money and expedience. And even if you insist upon the utilitarian line, the Royal family pay for themselves as a tourist attraction anyway.
