As so many of you lovely Ladies like to make your view points known and have an exquisite knowledge of worldly things. Being a typical male whose shopping habits are tainted by quick snacks rather than positive meal cooking (hate cooking for self) yet enjoy preparing meals for others, am quite adept in the kitchen but lack the knowledge of what one needs in the Freezer and Fridge. So if you can put your thinking caps on and come up with what ideally should be available in the freezer and fridge? Please note: Pasta items forbidden (cannot stand the texture and tasteless). Your help appreciated

Thank you for the suggestions gives me a better idea of what should be getting instead of stocking up on items that eventually get thrown out or given away..pointless buying a whole chicken for 1 even if on offer Alcohol does not feature as do not drink at home maybe odd bottle of wine for an evening meal with company.

Why is a chicken pointless? I often buy a chicken, roast it and then I have almost a week of various chicken based dishes, I make my students laugh with my home baked bread and chicken sandwiches, but amazing how fast they learn to appreciate a good old fashioned Chicken salad sandwich.
