I understand what you are saying HC but alot of prices for houses and rents are over priced. And the market is driven by greed. It's the same problem in the o6c. For example you live in a council house and pay rent and the person beside you in the same size of house is privatley renting and is paying over the odds. It's driven by greed.

It used to be a third of your income went on keeping the roof over your head but today a lot of people are struggling to keep the roof over their heads and they work. A lot of families have the stark choice at the end of the month to feed their kids or pay their rent/mortgages.

I want the complete banking system world wide to implode. Money is an incentive. All people need is a new incentive.

Phoenix: Lets keep it balanced. Your friend (online or other) sofarlonggong got himself kicked because he was posting personal and private information on other sites about a poster. He was telling lies and spreading rumours about me and my living conditions, how I earn my money, several times he brought my kids into arguments.

Why don't you contact him and ask him to come back on. I'll take him on. I'm not afraid of him. I think the guy is a piece of scum.

in telling us that he assumed things about posters and posted these assumptions..you assumed things about posters...and posted these assumptions.

very balanced, what you meant was lets copy sofar but lets get away with it.

congrats u nearly get away with it...not rolling on the floor laughing

MADDOG69: There's another Bubble in Dublin as we speak. It's overheating like mad. And it hasn't spread to the rest of the country yet. There's a bunch of counties where it's still flatlined. Some of the counties close to Dublin are seeing a light increase in prices.

It's amazing though.... abandoned estates everywhere, and a few miles away prices are driving up.

100k in my estate, 220 to 320

thats the rise in 2 years.

now thats a bubble, POP!

What sickens me is the fact that there are a lot of people in this country, Who are unemployed and in receipt of every entitlement. Including ones I'm sure I don't even know about. Yet they seem to have the Money to live between the Bookies and the Pubs. Whats even more sickening is that The Welfare Department does not seem to care if tax payers money is spent on Food and Family or Irish Sports and Leisure mumbling

Perhaps I'm mistaken and the day of the unemployed punter in the pub is over. Let me know if I'm wrong !

the fact is there is no incentive for our young to stay here they are leaving the ones that can.its very Easey to use unemployed as scapegoats and mention them down pub or in bookie office as some do,this kind of talk does not do those people that want to work and feel on the margins of society any good when their confidence in themselves may be at all time low already and their mental health may be suffering as a result of the circumstances they find themselves in,suicide in south east is the highest in Ireland particular for young males,

There is an element in society, who have always frequented the pub and bookies, the "Sham" culture of small town Ireland, the "Story Bud" people of Dublin, and "Hey Boy" groups that can be found lingering on the street corners of Waterford.

However, the vast majority of people currently unemployed, are there through reason of government mismanagement of the economy, and it is unfair to include people who are genuinely looking for work, with those who traditionally preferred to adopt a State funded leisure lifestyle.

I have to disagree Peach.
First its not a very easy thing to say. and I am not using unemployed People as scapegoats, Drink and gambling are prevalent factors in the destruction of family's in this country. Do you think its right for the tax payer to fund such a society ?
And simply because it keeps the money flowing.
The point of my post is to amend to the fact that there are far more destructive issues to the state and its economy in relation to welfare. Than Rent and Housing as the OP pointed out.
But I do see his argument. We have a very good although not perfect System compared to other countries.
