malwarebytes has turned into a thrive (35)

This morning malwarebytes forced install of new program version which changed our relationship that i had paid money to enjoy, e.g. malwarebytes running in real time. In the past i paid for three licenses that were supposed to give life time protection...
Now it appears malwarebytes requires a annual payment of $24.95 to update and protect you computer in real time.

myself i've gone full circuit strainght back to Spybot, which i have just re-installed after many years. In case your looking for similar protection you might in replacing malwarebytes program, free-for-personal-use Spybot can be downloaded from the following link:
Spybot for private use

After install what it found that malwarebytes didn't protect my computer from...errrr

I find Superantispyware

works pretty well, there is both a free and paid version.
Free has always worked pretty well, finding a trojan in the software supplied with the new lappy...

cleans not just tracking cookies etc, but also trojans and other nasties.
Updated regularly and seems to be reliable as I have been using it for the last 4 years without problems.

Yes it works quite good, but malwarebytes stil works fine in free mode,
and really i havent found i have needed more, as for spybot it always finds those kind of things...mostly cookies, that inevitably are back again in the short term, more a hindrance than a real problem.....

Okay, the Russkies (or subsiduaries) have invented a lot of the viruses. I do have more faith in them inventing the software to beat them. And they do provide "updates" on the anti-virus as soon as they detected rather than when the next $$$$ are due.

Norton makes a big show of doing something close to renewal time , still rather have Obama than Putin reading my most important mail .

yeah but obama was reading every-ones mail, you just ask snowden

mr kaspersky wrote the worlds first anti-virus program to keep the yanks from getting into the kgb computers

i'm pretty confident kaspersky's gets the highest ratings because its good

you probably will one day...
The malwarebytes free version doesn't update, doesn't load on start-up, it only protects with the loaded bases on first install and therefore doesn't protect computer against latest threats.
It is quite wrong to suggest the detected threats SpyBot detected were just cookies, all of those detection's included registry entries which Spybot removed.
What you have said is grossly misleading, from my side not long ago i recommended malwarebytes on CS and i am now shocked to deduce malwarebytes is now every bit as bad as malware, its now become a dishonest scam

Stuff left behind picked up by spybot is mostly ad-aware, while it's good to get rid of it, i would not lose sleep over it stil being there, so grossly mis-leading was your interpretation oF Malwarebytes....

well yes i paid money to use full premium version when i could also have used the free offer, however premium gave full protection including root-kit checks on start-up, real time protection based on latest bases etc. though it was quite a long time ago by paying you got life time use of the product, yesterday without my knowledge the program downloaded new program version that deleted old bases and demanded $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Added toolbars are not something malwarebytes was supposed to allow, nor either the four malware pups associated to one of the ones detected by SpyBot.

Doubleclick and Casalemedia, have been around for years....and always pop up again, in one form or another while a pain in the butt, they are not gonna shut your comp down,...Programs such as superanti-spyware pick them up, but then you will find them back again sometime later installed probably in the background of some program you installed
toolbars, are prob ones i despise the most , as the alter your search engine patterns and layouts, but they can usually be found and disposed of with a bit of searching....
you are quite correct that malwarebytes does not detect these it never has,......whether or not it finds them un-important i'm not sure.....
AS for paying for malwarebytes, you are never quite sure what you get in these packages, but i can see why you purchased it.......it should not force you to download new versions, (BUT...i have seen this before...) and it sucks,..maybe thats why i stick to free versions
i mean i've had to turn off skype updater and removed it, as it kept trying to upgrade my version which i like better than the newer ones,....sometimes they never give you an option, as for Malwares and you paying for it, i would get on to them , IF now you couldn't acccesss it, as you have paid your Dosh !

tip hat
