Have you tried talking to them about it? I know sometimes it's a very difficult matter to deal with depending on whether they are approachable or not. wave

here's another...it's after 11 pm here and young children are still running around outside making noise....even w/out the noise, one has to ask WHERE ARE THEIR PARENTS??? It's well after dark! These kids belong in bed. sigh

I know I must sound awful but TBH I have never seen such inconsiderate people before so I am kinda in shockwow

no I have not tried. it's a large group and they are strangers. I do not feel comfortable approaching a large group, mostly men and foreigners. I was going to...I went out there thinking I'd just ask them if they cared that they were disturbing others but the group was large and it looked like they may have been drinking also...so it did not seem a safe choice.

I'm wondering if school is out for the summer or if it's just because it's the weekend, warm outside and the kids are happy? I know it gets pretty noisy outside where I live sometimes into the wee hours during the summer holidays but the little ones are usually called in when it gets dark outside. But you're right to question why the parents don't seem to care. sigh

That's a tricky one and I'd also be inclined not to approach them if they've been drinking. Are there not noise laws that can be enforced if it continues past a certain hour at night?

2intrigued: Poor Scott Damn them eh? Well, there's this kid in the townhouse complex right in front of my place and he's got the loudest gas powered pocket motorbike and an array of miscellaneous motorized gizmos that he rides around on quite a bit but the local police caught him riding one of them through the walking trails behind my building and it's not as bad now.

yes it's amazing how helpful a ticketing can be laugh smoking

actually as far as noise ordinance time of day is not always a factor. There is a distance from which noise cannot be heard coming from a dwelling (in city zoning). But really 2, I am not trying to get anyone in trouble. My concern is that they are so inconsiderate. That they are breaking the law is important of course, but really it is the lack of consideration...I mean we should not even need laws for stuff like this...

yes as far as approaching, law enforcement generally recommends that people not do that as a precaution
