.then a bottle of olive oil cooking oil smashed that I let fall from bag,...worse than the time I came out of loo in a pub with my skirt up at back in my knickers,

If you trip on a raised paving slab and stumble awkwardly for a few steps outside a crowded beer garden, and people laugh at your misfortune. Don't get embarrassed, simply repeat the manoeuvre pretending it is a disability and cast a disapproving glance at the mockers, making them feel bad for laughing at a disabled person.

...... In Madrid 4 years ago with a then boyfriend we went to Madrid and one night I walked into what I thought was a cafe pub ,was an older lady there with feathers in her hair...
