Parenting....question (4)

Why do parents get on to their children for doing the same things they do and for speaking in the same manner they do. Every time a parent tells their children they need to grow up and be like them.....they then get on the to the child for being like them. I've never understood that. Why!? I mean after all....we are their examples aren't we!?

Do you mean "do as I say and not as I do?

Most likely many people see subconsciously the faults in themselves and when they see the same traits in someone else it is like looking in the mirror.

Hmmmm......interesting thought!! So they are actually belittling, beating, or belittling themselves through their children...professor ....now that's a VERY interesting concept....hmmm

That do as I say and not as I do can be a bit confusing when a parent is constantly telling their children to obey them and follow their instructions too.

it is definitely confusing! I had such parents, they would do opposite to what they said and when I use to point it out I'd get a flogging rolling on the floor laughing But then again my parents were not very bright which also brings me to another point. laugh I strongly feel there should be some compulsory parental education these days. I don't think parenting is a natural instinct in the 20th century because our social structure has become much more complicated.
