robplum: Yeah yoga and tai chi meditations both relate to energy and focusing mind.

Raki is spelt Reiki dunno about that one "Reiki is a spiritual practice developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui, which has since been adapted by various teachers of varying traditions."!
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy".
Reiki Australia's foundation is the spiritual, personal practice and healing art of Reiki.
Reiki is a natural form of healing therapy. It uses non-invasive gentle touch. This form of therapy aims to increase energy levels and promote relaxation and ...
Reiki Master and Holistic Therapies.

I've met people engaged in that, they embrace all religions or something, or something, they believe in god and buddha etc, anything probably

Wow! Funny you should mention this Rob! In 2001 I was in a head on collision. For about a yr I couldn't stand up straight and had been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia due to back injuries. My Chiropractor finally brought his wife in to treat me having to get special permission from my insurance company. I had had a LOT of physical therapy, massages, etc. but when she used the methods you are speaking of, for the first time in a yr after being treated a few times I was able to stand up straight, thought clearer, had much less pain etc. in less than 6 months of treatment with her I was able to start working again. She actually used those skills or a lot of cerebral palsy and MS patients...mainly she worked on children. I didn't start having an understanding about the energy part until 2006. And still learning. The more I learn though, the more I see how I used it and taught my daughter not understanding what I was teaching as well as what I had been doing. The more I read about it......the more I understand it. It's really an I interesting thing to learn.

Sorry to hear you were in an accident Theresasad flower wave

but interesting to hear of the way you were healed..

I must admit... I don't know what to say about religion, because I don't really buy it.. except I believe in something, but I really doesn't have a name to it... I guess I am saying, that I am aware that something else is around, which can and does help...

for example... when I cannot find something, I always ask St Anthony to help... and he does without fail...
applause

its usually my glasses or house keys misplaced, in a moment of non focussing... so that stops me stressing for a few minutes..

But, it was Hatha Yoga that I practiced for years... and still do on occasions, and I remember the long meditations at the end of class, which made me feel like I was floating on air when I left class... so clearly there is something wonderful within and around all of that..

I have been very lucky in my life... I usually live in my own world.. of little things that I do that I like... and I manage to get myself out of scraps that occur along the way... without lasting troubles.. But, in order to keep along my safe path, I generally ask myself .. what would the consequences be if... and it is this that I keep in mind if I decide to step out of my bubble.

I recently stepped out of my personal bubble... but only in a small way.. and I am very mindful and aware of where and how I go...
Just waiting to see where this new path leads... but strangely, I have a good feeling around this..

So, re your topic... don't judge a book by its cover... well, I try not to... but I find that often peoples stories of their life are written all over their faces..

and that is the first thing I read..
and it is that which tells me what I need to know...

Hi Merriweather wave ,

Reading someone's face is way different than judging a book by it's cover in my views. I don't at first...but once you start reading their eyes and face and then they open their mouth....I'm gonna judge weather I should be associating with someone. But with that being said, I also won't say they are good or bad because of their appearances either...or what they have or don't have. I believe there's a purpose for everyone and everything here and we all have different levels do intelligence and comprehension and none of it is good or bad. It just is what it is. If everyone was extremely intelligent and had the ability to run coronations, business, etc....then there'd be no one satisfied with doing the things that don't take a lot of intellect to do. I believe we are all created to enhance each other in some way....

It's just how I think...wink

meditation is a very powerful tool. Any form of meditation even if just for a few moments stills our minds can rejuvenate our whole system, can release tensions, stress, relaxes our whole being.

AgentAjax: your whole philosophy is built on assumptions not fact. People remember very little years after especially in crises. You should actually educate your self in the area of psychology first my dear.

Quoting anything from a site that calls itself boingboing, is doing personal credibility any favours. Particularly when the same site includes comics and other fantasy.

What is this supposed to be?

Looks like the visual output of someone having a brain fart. It's hardly frightening, more pointless than anything else. Much like the entire website.

Yes. of course... they are just lovely..

but that flight to KL is just the beginning of the boredom... and being it takes hours just to leave Aus , and then oh dear.. those pretty attendants bring out food that just the smell of it , makes me feel ill... so I am glad it is you and not me.

The only good thing about that flight, is that you can gather at the escape area, because it is rather big, and have a natter to someone else who is also wanting to stand there, and not all this constant sitting.. grin

Hmm it only takes around 8 hours of flying not including departure and arrival. And the food is scrumptious. Went out with 12 people from our company for dinner few weeks ago to a high class restaurant and the total bill was under $60 Au and there was so much of food left over it was embarrassing. And the food was absolutely beautiful.

I have not travelled with Malaysian Airlines, but I have flown with Singapore Airlines and Thai. The girls are quite attractive.
