Well... those are very atypical Americans. Snacks in American terminology is something not less than 1500 calories. 
I fancy a snack later. Kentucky fried chicken and the 6 French fries they give you,,.

I was in the States a couple of years after 9/11, the time Uncle Sam was bombing the hell out of, er, I mean freeing middle eastern citizens from tyrannical regimes.
France refused to allow US aircraft fly over French territory with their freedom bombs, and some elements of the US fast food industry renamed French Fries as Freedom Fries.

The Americans celebrated Bastille day,,.,I think I'm tired now I love America I'm so glad we let them fuel at Shannon airport ....we are their friend now,,,god save America and all the Irish that helped build it and still building it,.

I like Americans too, remember waiting for a flight in Shannon and being practically the only non marine in the departure lounge, but we have to look after our friends.
