Its awful that in this day and age planes are being shot down

Ok one view the first plane fell down, but not everybody would agree with the way investigations were handled, the latest shot down is known to have had 27 Aussie on board but still 50 passengers nationality unknown

yeah, if the truth had been told, lessens might have been learned and international flights might have already have avoided conflict zones, who knows but lying politicians should be barred from decision making in such circumstances

I got as you know photo the Vietnamese took which looked to there eyes as an aircraft door just off southern Vietnam where the plane went off radar.
All the bloody bla bla politicians are now pumping out is like to abbott bla bla on ANZAC and International parades while stealing half my veterans pensions

Yes it is, sad to those sort of events are going on.
For all of us you live for as long as you have merit to, and not one second longer, doesn't matter how young, or how old, how many go together, or whether close or not, they are all brothers and sisters in our shared human family. It just is...

I’ve been trying to follow some commentary on the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 that flew over territory under the control of pro-Russian separatists and like Tony Abbott Malaysia’s Prime Minister (who admires the courage of the Isis fighters in Iraq) has condemned the “irresponsible and inhumane act” that resulted in the loss of nearly 300 lives.

The flight plan saw the aircraft flying just three thousand feet above a contested war zone knowing that below that height planes were being shot down, one commentator appeared to say the flight plan placed MH17 just 1000 feet above the minimum safe high. While the missile used had a range of over 35000 feet.
Makes me wonder…wonder…wonder…why anybody is surprised at the outcome of a decision that saw international flights flying anywhere near there.
Now Abbott and Co. are trying to put the blame on Putin…the stupid blame game instead of looking at the facts...

hypothetical he didn't Malaysian airline decided if they took other route tickets would have to have cost more, as they took a shorter route in flying over the war zone, which they knew to be a more dangerous flight path.

The world community rightly want access to the crash site but most of them are blaming Putin, they are doing that at the expense of the grieving families as they are trying to direct the wars outcome in favor of the side that they are barracking for...

Merriweather: Um... just a question then... if the pilot was asked to fly that particular course,

what do you think would have happened if he had chosen not to... would he have been in trouble?? if he decided that flying over a war zone was not suitable.??
with the new information at hand do you think your view on the whole situation has changed?
