What is the easiest and most economical way to get from the South of Ireland to Belfast? I want to see the Titanic museum!!!
Seems there are no direct flights which is mad really in such a small country! From what I can see it takes nearly as long by bus and train as it does by plane!

Well Minnie I suppose the bus would make the journey very far tho unless you slept overnight.. I'd like to do a trip to Belfast for me I would take the train to Dublin then one from there to Belfast ,I'd say it be a 5 hour journey altogether bit I'd bring my flask tea and Sarnies and a book by graham grismom. Not anespiage one tho or they might take me in for questioning ,,,...I like to just go sight seeing I believe it's a lovely city and of course the titanic was built up there,,,,.thumbs up

Yeah the train might be the best. That's around €170 I think return.
I'd drive but not sure my ol' car is up to it.

I'm just surprised that there's not a direct flight from Cork or Shannon.
You can fly from Cork but there's a stop of a few hours and it's (wait for it) between €300 and €350 maybe a bit more depending on who with and what day. Mad!

Quicker to go to London!

Limerick - Dublin - Belfast...motorway the whole way although some parts of the A1 are dual carriageway so no 70mph speed limits..you could still do Dublin to Belfast in under 2 hrs easilyireland

You do know that Leonardo Dicaprio does not live there?dunno It just a rumour the Northern Ireland tourist board cooked up to make the idea of visiting a museum appear hip.

Awww damn! lol! No I seriously want to see that museum. Love all the stories attached to the Titanic not just the main story. Who knows who might be there though! I might be lucky! Sigh!

The last port of call The Titanic made was Cobh (Queenstown) and there is a Titanic visitor centre there too, if you love the Titanic this visit is a must.

and you will be comfortable driving here id imagine.

This Irish heritage walking tour takes visitors through the historic town of Cobh where the buildings, streets and piers have not changed since the Titanic’s sinking over 100 years ago.

Thanks fifi, you're so helpful. handshake
I did all that in 2012 for the 'hanniversary'! Fab day out! I found out I can get there by bus (return) for about €30. You see more scenery on the bus, as you can miss a lot when driving.
