100 years ago today, Irish men and women prepared for a terrible war on the battlefields of Europe. I would like to pay my respects to all those who fought, cared for the wounded, and gave their lives in the great war.

My Great Grandfather (on my fathers side) faught in WW1, when he came back from the trenches he seldom spoke again about the horrors that he witnessed on the battlefield until he mentioned it to my Dad when he was 16 years of age.
