Nancy19691: Am I the only one who's never been married? I've dated guys but they never worked out. I am fine with it though.
Well who is to say if things work out if you married,,I think the way things are these days I wouldn't think over it too much,, I wouldn't begrudge those that do or those that don't,
I married day before my 21 st birthday it was one of my happiest days besides my two kids being born,,,we had our years together alot sadly it didnt work out,,,
But I'm content single today ,,relationships can test a person in that it texts us and the partner in that we learn alot about ourselves,,insecurities, strengths,to be able to give and take,,we don't need a piece of paper to prove our love for someone but in ways it can be nice too but not if it dosnt feel right for you,

Oh. dear. Imagine marriage as a very wide circle. The outsiders wanted to jump IN,and the insiders OUT.-If you are fine with it, why looking for trouble.-????

Nope. I never married either.
Yes, we had children and, yes, we exchanged rings in an unofficial engagement, but no, never walked down the aisle.
It's crazy isn't it....a lot of woman(myself included) dream of our big day. I did when I was little. The white flowing gown, the romance of it all. My father never got to walk his daughter down the aisle is my only regret.
We decided to invest the money we would've put into a ceremony on buying a property instead.
I still do believe exchanging of vows is important for those who choose to go down that path. It just didn't happen for me. Now, that I am older, the desire to get married has waned somewhat... It's not a priority at all.

Being happy is all that counts, and I'm sure you were

I never had those dreams growing up. Is that odd?
I remember saying to a friend when I was 13 years old that I was never going to get married. She made me write it down, sign it and put it in a sealed envelope, so she could waggle it in front of my face on my wedding day.

I wonder how many years ago she binned it.
Nah, not odd Jac....but not the norm, I guess.
All my friends and I had our sights set on getting married.
Totally deluded we were. Only one of the 4 of us school besties remains in a marriage. Two of us never got married at all.
...and your note....will still be tucked away somewhere, I bet.
