True Miss soul, a lot of variables have to fit together in life for a relationship to work. Just remembering my past relationships when I was a teen and in my twenties makes me cringe. So awful... No time nor means to giving all that I want, to a partner. I might even be a senor citizen before I settle down again.

I know this is all to do with cultural differences, because I would never look for a bloke to assure me of financial stability, and a good life.. heck...
In this country, everyone had a duty to sort those things out for themselves... so I hope whoever this person is, he has the same mindset as yourself..

You're going to get a lot of flack for this thread, IS.
You're going to be called a gold digger, a typical female (female what? Female sheep? Female gerbil?) and all sorts.
If you were looking for a relationship with a future and were to bring children into this world without financial stability, you'd get flack for that too and be called irresponsible.
At the age of 19, I think you're wise to take into account all aspects of your future and your future children's future. Nobody wants to see their children starve because they were foolish in love at the age of 19.

This case is not strange, after the break up, boys don't let go of their ex-girl friend that easily. I think maybe he still has some good feelings left for you. However, he will accept the break up soon if you keep rejecting him. Be strong, life will move on.

truly an oath will not work - the only promise that works is in the action and good deeds.
I assume of course, that you have maintained your own financial stability? and you need a mate that holds up his end of the relationship not drags it down.

Yes we are culturally miles apart. My religion demands males to earn bread and butter for us, keep us, maintain us, and yet at the same time, our religion gives us enough space to breath and live our own lives.
Let me mention that I am from ARAB lineage living in ASIA from few generation.
Obviously Asian culture has influenced our menfolk and they are in my opinion their "manhood" has gone weak.
This is how I take it !!
and yes I expect my man to be brave and responsible !!
I simply can not take in any irresponsible baby to be my man !!!
