Hello everybody!
Greetings from Austria.
I've got to know somebody here on CS for about two weeks.
I am Austrian, she is Italian.
Im an old geezer (58), she is in the middle ages (51).
Between Klagenfurt (my adress) and Treviso (her adress) there are 180 miles. Impossible. No chance for a relationship I thought.
We corresponded by mails so far (first step), I did not like her first emails at all but after exchanging more than 20 mails...huuuh I know there is a volcano writing me emails.
Now we are communicating by phone (second step).
I love her voice, she loves mine.
We will meet together soon I decided, she agreed.
That will be the third step.
Believe me, in the beginning I thought: 180 miles, it's crazy, it's impossible.
Believe me, now I think: 180 miles? That's almost nothing.
I wish you a fine Sunday and may your life be as exciting as mine now.

Aw that sounds like a great start! Do you use "viber" is a free way to talk. I remember very well when I met a lovely lady very far away. I hope to hear some good feedback as you both meet and such.
All the best of luck to you both!
thumbs up

Viber? I don't know it, I guess it is something similar like Skype.
Thanks for your advice.

It is a free download to your cell phone and it also can be installed on your computer. I have a friend that just left for Viet Nam. I can still call him at no charge. I only wish it was around a few years ago...wold have saved me literally hundreds of dollars.
It really works very well.

thumbs up

These two weeks completely changed my love life.
I did not believe that this stuff "love" really exists until now.
She wrotes me: "I will learn you how to love".
It's ridiculous: a 51 yrs old lady wants to teach a 58 yrs old what love ist ???
I am really out of emotional balance.
Imagine this woman wrote to me: "I have the sixth sense, I know when the "special one" has come.
Women are so crazy, I do not understand them.

Sounds like things are heading in a positive direction Bauksi, that's great news. To put your distance concerns into a little perspective, 180 miles isn't really that far, I regularly travel 600 miles by car just to visit my friends for a weekend, so 180 to visit a lady is practically just down the road for you.
Believe me, in the beginning I thought: 180 miles, it's crazy, it's impossible.
Believe me, now I think: 180 miles? That's almost nothing.

180 miles is nothing as far as I am concerned but then I live in a wide country - Canada, about 3 hours drive?. just go meet her in person and then decide instead of coming here with all these questions. poor woman, you are so suspicious of her - first you suspect her of being a scammer wanting to empty your wallet, etc .
we don't know her, we've not met her, we only know what you tell us about her. there are 3 sides to every story - his side, her side and the truth!
you are making a mountain of an anthill!

Hello Jim, nice to hear from you.
600 miles to visit your friends?
That must be a wonderful friendship, worthwhile for such a long distance. I admire you. In many aspects. If I would be a woman I would visit you from Austria to Australia and i would buy a one-way ticket.

Dear man from Canada,
I don't make a mountain of an anthill.
I never made such an experience with such a long distance.
That's why I would like to know from people who made a similar experience in the past. That's why I am posting here. To learn from the experience of others.
I am not supiscious anylonger. I guess that the women is not a swindler.

I did not visit your profile. That was my fault, excuse me.
Btw you don't like tatoos? Why that?
That's only the surface of a man, that's a prejudice.
You must take a look at the character of a man.

there is always a first time
even if people here have had LDRs, their situations/relationships may be different from yours
it can start as LDR but does not have to remain LDR
