Forty wave

Wow I'd be hard-pressed to name 3 books to be honest, out of the hundreds I've read and enjoyed in my lifetime uncertain laugh

A couple of faves that do spring to mind though would be Temptations of the West, How to be Modern in India by Pankaj Mishra and Anthony Kiedis' autobiography, Scar Tissue.

Love to read and usually have 3-4 books on the go at any time
cheers

3-4 Books only??? Me too.

Lord of the Rings is a trilogy...does that count as 1 or 3. Then add on The Hobbit and The Silmarillion and that is either 3 or 5. And a few more Tolkien books as well.

And 50 years after my first reading, Aesop's Fables are still worth reading.

I have recently reread Gulivers Travels, all 4 of the stories included in the original book, not just Lilliput version.

My daughter gave me the new G Archer book for Father's Day. Since my mum passed away 4 years ago (was my Xmas & birthday presents for someone who has or could afford everything), I have not kept up with the "LATEST" books and so have missed out on a few of Archer's books during that time. Now I have to haunt the Op shops to get the previous 3 volumes.

Hi all

Like you fellow book lovers i limited the number to three as i could have gone on with a list of pure delights between pages.

Authors i have enjoyed over the decades to name a few: wilbur smith, bryce courtney, john sternbeck,
Bronte sisters, shakespeare, colleen mccough (sp) first book of hers was the Thorn Birds.

Books with historical threads i love. So tranter for instance with scottish history. Clan of the cave bear series.

Love to escape with simple story telling of maeve binchey. Oh the tears and joy of watership down and the lovely little moles and co in the dunction series of books by horwood.

How about playrights and poets!!!!

I am a big sci-fi fan and will just put down my favourite series.

Martion Zimmer-Bradley - the Darkover series and Tolkien - Lord of the Rings.

If someone is interested in these type of books, Patrick Rotfuss wrote a series, starting with "The Name of the Wind" and "The Wise Man's Fear". I enjoyed reading them. wine

Good luck and you might be surprised by how lucky you will be.

I am afraid not as generous as some. I buy to read to keep the book shelf warm. Happy to lend.

A random act of kindness. A colleague knew i had all of Bryce Courtney in hardback except for 2 books. When she was exchanging books she fluked tge two and got them for me. Nice indeed. Now i have every book he wrote and in hardback!!
