It may not surprise some people that the NFL is tax exempt. This is a business with no less than 18 BILLIONAIRES among its ownership roster. How much does the NFL pay to the taxman? $0.00
The NHL is also tax exempt meaning they pay to the taxman? $0.00
Then there's the PGA you guessed it, tax exempt! They pay $0.00 Who plays Golf? The single mom who shops at the dollar store trying to feed her kids? The guy who changed your oil at Jiffylube? The guy standing on the corner with a cardboard sign? Nope! But it's a safe bet that many of the owners and stock holders of Jiffylube and Dollar General and International Paper (Who make the cardboard) are avid golfers.
Know who else is exempt from paying taxes? The Reverend Jesse Jackson. He's tax exempt because he is a Reverend. As is The Reverend Al Sharpton. Again, he pays no income tax. But these guys are really small potatoes in the tax dodge game. The entity that dwarfs the NFL, the NHL, the PGA, Jackson & Sharpton is the Catholic Church, Muslim Mosques, Jewish synagogues, and any and all religious organizations, probably even the Westboro Baptist Church.

I've known about this for a long time. It used to upset me. Not anymore. I've come to accept that we live in an oligarchy. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's not an elephant.
Notice that the more people have become aware of what's going on, the tighter the controls on information flow have become and the more people are being surveilled. (This is done under the guise of protecting the people from terrorists, which is the biggest load of crap of all).

dont forget congress no taxes n freebies/free health care,at walter reed hospital, they would walk by wounded soldiers/noses in air,get rushed right in,till complaints fly in on them,so they got a new hosp.!screw our taxed vets w/ no legs.
Years ago, before the Internet, there was an movement up in New York State about I believe, rising property taxes. The word was, you could become a minister by taking a mail order course and get certified and you would become tax exempt from property tax as well as state income tax. 100's maybe 1000's of people did just that. Talk about gaming the system! I thought about doing it but in spite of being an agnostic heathen infidel my moral code wouldn't let me. I felt like the absolute last thing I ever wanted to do on this earth was to be associated with anything to do with the fairy tale world of organized religion. I guess I'll never be filthy rich.
Another thought. We almost elected a president who when questioned about having the bulk of his wealth buried in tax free offshore accounts in such places as the Cayman Islands and Swiss banks said:
"You wouldn't want a president who would pay more taxes than he needs to, would you?"
