Sometimes like magnets. You ever see the tall person with a very short person. Or what about the very thin with the very fat. Then you have the well dressed with the shabby dresser. And I have met people you would have thought they should not be together because of totally different backgrounds or personalities. I am not the judge of their relationships, they are.
Its true to a point. Its nice to have some similar interests, but not all. Too much alike and things can get competative. For example I dated another artist and instead of admiring each other's work, we were almost fighting to see who was better, or has painting longer, had more schooling...etc. Silly! Its nice when I date someone who has different hobbies then me because then you are interested in their difference.
I have found the best relationships I've had the men had similar interests to me but they used the opposite side of their brain more than I did.
I have degrees in English and Sociology and totally suck in Math and any of the hard sciences. Yet I seem to have wonderful relationships with men who have degrees in Economics, Mathematics, Physics, etc. My last long term relationshp, my bf was a pilot and flight instructor. These type guys struggled to get thru their English and history requirements but excelled in Math and Science.
So in a sense we're opposites in the fact that they are using a different part of their brain than I am to access information.
