Actually, you are not far off with the sharks lol, about 20 miles south, which is to the left,, there is a seaside town called Oslob, famous for their whale sharks, a very docile animal, and so there are tours where you can go out in boats and swim with the whale sharks.
I went some years ago and found it fascinating, but today, there is some controversy regarding this activity, some believe it is harmful to the animals. you can read more if interested here:-

Thank you, yes can't wait to be living there full time instead of just now and again due to work. I hope to take early retirement in a couple of years, but work commitments may mean delaying that for an extra year.
