Ok, here are my 5 cents worth, even though I don't get it myself.
Stage in life - some young people want to miss the being young, broke wild part and just settle straight away - someone older might suit there.
Some older people want to stay young and are looking for someone to live a "young" lifestyle with or simply have a nice thing hanging off their arm.
I like someone in a similar stage in life and that does age include for me, so I was never interested in a big age difference either way - but I do know that different people simply look for different things and best of luck with that.

There doesn't have to be an actual chronological age difference that sparks comments.....
I had a pic of my (now ex-) partner on my profile page and I got comments about him being my father even though there was only 5 years between us.....??!!

Molly... Last NBA season the owner of the LA Clippers was taped by is young girlfriend using racial slurs. The octogenarian had to sell the team . The girl friend was said to have received to Benthleys (expensive cars) and a 2 million dollar house. These types of relationships are secret until something happen.

Benny, I mean with 'real' people. Neighbours, friends, etc. Not people living fantasy uber-rich lives.

All the views expressed I do agree with...and as covered there could well be a "hidden" reason that you/they "would not write home about".
Saying that, I do believe that there is people who feel they are young at heart, or older than their years (or somehow they feel trapped in their body) and for them love could well be age blind.
I did read somewhere that long term partners do seem to have the same physiological makeup.

I think people forget the human hardwiring. It's certainly natural for an older man to want to continue to sow his wild oats, but it is not natural for a young woman to want to mate with an old man. If that were the case, it would be the norm (>50% of the population), but it isn't. The genetic material deteriorates as people age. Young women are hardwired to choose young men and vice versa. As we age, men and women may want someone younger, but you can crap in one hand and wish in the other and see which one fills up first. People who get their wish are the statistical outliers. That's why they are in the news or social media and that's why these issues are discussed.

Sometimes younger male or female. Want older because it makes them feel more wanted desire able and feel they have a power ie youth over the older one,
