To me, a successful relationship requires falling in love many times always with the same person.

Falling in love again means you'd have fallen out of love with them. confused

To be successful, you treat each other daily, as if it was your third date.

Yes my thought exactly

Think the OP is half correct though, as most Turkish men are famous for falling in love many times, just usually with a different woman each timegiggle

A successful loving relationship today requires her to be funny, smart, loves sleeping naked, never shaves anything, leaves to cook, do dishes, laundry, gardening, cleaning, snow plowing, is hard working on the job and at home, she wants 15 children, she has lots aNd lots of money, junk silver, gold, the properties here and abroad, Planes, boats, motorcycles and she sells it all to give to me.... Because I've got something to give her that no other man can

The problem in American culture is that too many people don't follow through and give up after a few emails or a phone call.....they have no attention span, no sense of commitment, expect perfection and run screaming into the night if they see one flaw shock

My daughter and her husband celebrate their ten year wedding anniversary in a few days..

She is so excited, emailing me pics of gorgeous outfits and asking my opinion about what would be perfect for the occasion .. it warms my heart heart wings

Of course they have had their ups and downs, but they work hard at their marriage and romance each other, you can see the love in their eyes daydream

Hi Serene wave
Something that is very rare these days. It is heart warming indeed. I think never giving up is the key to success. Good relationships don't just happen and it is hard to maintain. Some things are just worth fighting for wine

We do as a culture see relationships, and people as very disposable.

We do that with stuff too.

thumbs up

Honesty. effective communication, a sense of fun, keeping the romance alive....and simply being comfortable and enjoying each other.

If he/she is right for you, then all those things will simply just fall into place, naturally, without conscious thought.

is, when years pass by and you know you can count on him/her entirely, you don't have to pretend being someone else and you feel you are loved for who you are, you know you can express yourself about any subject without fear or uneasiness, you still like his/her sense of humor, and you still get excited about this person so you want to be intimate together. And you see yourself getting old with this person and being happy no matter the age.
