The problem in American culture is that too many people don't follow through and give up after a few emails or a phone call.....they have no attention span, no sense of commitment, expect perfection and run screaming into the night if they see one flaw

She is so excited, emailing me pics of gorgeous outfits and asking my opinion about what would be perfect for the occasion .. it warms my heart

Something that is very rare these days. It is heart warming indeed. I think never giving up is the key to success. Good relationships don't just happen and it is hard to maintain. Some things are just worth fighting for

We do as a culture see relationships, and people as very disposable.

Honesty. effective communication, a sense of fun, keeping the romance alive....and simply being comfortable and enjoying each other.
If he/she is right for you, then all those things will simply just fall into place, naturally, without conscious thought.

is, when years pass by and you know you can count on him/her entirely, you don't have to pretend being someone else and you feel you are loved for who you are, you know you can express yourself about any subject without fear or uneasiness, you still like his/her sense of humor, and you still get excited about this person so you want to be intimate together. And you see yourself getting old with this person and being happy no matter the age.
