My ex-husband. he's Indian, tall dark and handsome.
I first saw him in the kitchen where we both worked. He in his crispy white chef's uniform and his tall chef's hat. I knew there and then that I had to have him. And I got him..... a month later
We got married the following year and now separated, after 17 years of marriage.

The believe in existence of love at first sight died for me after once in a dark disco place. There was this mysterious guy sitting at the bar drinking bier. Me 17/18, he probably 22. Observing me when I was dancing. I noticed. I looked back, he smiled. I though "hmmm… nice guy". I looked again "Little mysterious" and I wondered why.

Yeah, there was a reason why he looked so mysterious and why his smile reminded me of Mona Lisa: He was missing 50% of teeth at least!
He could have been the best man ever, world box champion just after the game, victim of some fight, … But I was young and appearance counted way more that time than today. So I never gave him a chance to tell the story.
From that on, I decided that there is no love at first sight for me. Do not hurry so much. Take the time. Surprises are not always so nice :)

OK, when you talk about that early age.
Of course I was in love from the first sight.
I was living in kind of boarding place for few months when I was around 12.
The dinning room there looked a little like from Harry Potter: A lot of raws of long tables. I was sitting at the rear end of one of them with all bunch of other kids. Having the lunch. One moment the door opened and - here he was.

The girls around me started to whisper and I looked again and our eyes met. I knew immediately I "liked" him.
He got to my group, took a place in front of me at the dinner table, so we were meeting all the time but always with all other people. It never occurred to me to tell him I liked him. Few weeks later I got a love letter from him delivered by his best buddy. Had butterflies all the day but never had chance to tell him that I liked him too... The same night he was taken to hospital and did not came back. :(
Years later I met him on the street, close to my place, one day. We recognized each other and started to talk. Turned out we were living like 500m away from each other for all those years and we never met! He said he had a basic surgery but got some infection and stayed in hospital for weeks.
We even had a date but the feeling was long gone.
Of course I was in love from the first sight.
