there is some parents that say their child or children are their best friend but to me there is a fine line between being a parent to your child and friend to many times I notice the manner in which some of those children talk back to their parents in public. but were do you draw the line as a parent if its not to late??

This is an interesting subject IMO
For me parents have a particular role to play that is very different then the friends role. I personally don't believe in mixing the two roles, however that is just my opinion.
Even now when my daughter is almost 50 years old, she knows that I am her mother and she respects that role. But, there are times when we laugh and act up but I am still the parent.
