Are you suggesting that for a woman to accept the advances of men on this site she must lower her standards. Do you think so little of the men on this site?

Slightly off topic, but is that a hat you're wearing, or your hair?
Women can be picky. There's a higher number of men to women on dating sites, so they can afford to wait for a better one.
Your statement could be reversed to be honest. Do you mail every woman in your area? Even the ones you have zero interest in? That's the point. Just because you may like someone, it doesn't mean they will like you. Hard fact of reality.

Some are just on here to talk the hind legs off a donkey. They're not really serious.......just like the idea of leading men on. Candy shop syndrome......the women suffer from it the same as the men, they just don't admit it.

Most are picky and rightfully so....others not so much.

First, a woman will be more picky online because she gets the offers she could have got anyway plus all the offers from men who wouldn't have the balls to approach in real life. She gets swamped.
Second, men take online dating more seriously because we're visual and a picture will do so long as it isn't photoshopped, taken at a clever clever angle or snapped under trickery lighting. Women care more about personality and the superficiality of online dating is not woman-friendly; It is difficult for the woman online to assess a man's mate-worthiness.
The above two points mean that, generally speaking, a woman will be less serious about looking for a man online and more interested in using the internet to boost her ego and provide her with a few aimless thrills.

Unfortunately for some people........... Online Dating can be a little like *window* shopping, in the respect they may have one thing in mind(or already in hand..) but IF they spot what they perceive as better option they are quick to jump without much thought to what has already conspired...this i have seen many times...

Some good points there .....i know some woman friends (who could talk an eternity in writing.... ), yet a simple thing as talking face to face is a Major obstical ....judgement from that they are not really serious...

I agree most people do at times do see the grass more greener on the other side and then once that 2nd person shows any interest in someone then the meany greenies begin to show.Or they wish they would have hung onto the first person.
