In response to: What does it matter about the age difference in a Relationship.....

I surely don't wish to be in a relationship with some someone young enough to be my son and he's 33.

Some things to consider:

1) someone much younger may wish to have children, when you are finished with having children.
2) someone much younger may still want to go out partying and drinking often, when you are to a point in life where quiet evenings or less nights out are more appaling.
3) someone younger may have a completely view of things on life, as they haven't yet experienced the things you have.
4) someone much younger may be wanting to build a career, when you are ready to retire and have other priorities.
5) someone much younger may be wanting only a physical relationship, when you're wanting something more permanent, or vice versa.

Just a few things and of course, this could be turned around with the younger to older angle.

These are the reasons a big age difference doesn't work for me, but it may way work for others. To each his/her own. wine

I find most people who ask that question are middle-aged men looking for younger women.

Never middle-aged men looking for older women.dunno

What is a " big age difference"?

My man is 15 years younger.

I think the age difference is the business of the two people involved.

My younger man is the one pushing for marriage--I've been a free spirit all my life, never been married....so I don't fit neatly into a sterotype.

Perhaps the OP will come back to this thread and give you his thoughts on what he feels is a big age difference.

I concur that age difference is the business of the two people involved, as I stated, "to each his/her own". wine

Well it is disconcerting when the other person starts throwing up at the thought of doing anything. :)

Age is important factor in the relationship. It is life expierence, temperament, health, way of thinking, etc...it is not "only number"...it is life ahead or what is left of it...

I think for the most part, what is a "big gap" in age, is subjective, unless the 2 people involved are quite young. So other than that, what is seen as a "huge" gap to one person, may not be quite such a big deal to another. People do need to consider whether they may or may not wish to have (more?) kids. But some of the age gap couples last quite a long time, whereas so many similarly aged couples don't last....Love doesn't have a color and it doesn't have an age, either, it seems, in so many cases
