Maybe people want to get the longest time exposure for all the effort of putting the lights up.. I don't think it'd be a quick job to do all that effort, and lots of children love to look at the pretty lights..

I guess the Christmas spirits comes early to drown out the cold winters and brighten things up. wave

You might find this interesting. I don't know if you ever heard of Thanksgiving beggars....it is an event that took place before Halloween became popular here in the states. It is a short article, I have heard the story tho from older people who lived it. Quite fascinating to me. I had never heard of it till I was adult. I had thought there always was a halloween wow

Lookin4missright: I remember as a little tacker going into the city shopping with sis and muma lookin, we always stopped at darryl lea (flinders street i think) before getting onto the train home.

Were my faves although can't remember their name

I grew up not far the Darryl Lea Factory and if mum was driving by, she would often stop and by bags of 2nds, especially Rocky Road. And it was on Rocky Point Road.

And for a special treat, we would have Rocky Road with icecream for desert.cheering applause peace cheering

After owning a Darryl Lea outlet, I doubt I can ever eat any of it ever again .... Obviously I stocked Darryl Lea though being a shop in Ballina NSW I also stocked Rocky Road made in Byron bay ... It was fairly popular and slightly cheaper then Darryl Lea ... drinking
