I have noticed, when younger men ask you out, and you mention about the age difference, They invariably say,, sure it is just a number,, To a certain degree you agree, and say, this one might be different.
It isn't until you start to see them a few times that you notice, that the age difference shows,, I.E. lack of maturity,, very childish in their attitudes, and reactions.
They are just going, where you have been and grown from. This is what i believe. Anyone agree???
....ah, the old maturity chestnut.... In my case, age isnt a number, its two numbers, 5 and 5, and to be quite honest, my biological years and my mental age are as different as chalk and cheese....Id say the bulk of men, even if they dont fess up are really kids at heart, its what the choose to do with their life experiences that builds maturity and control.... I survive as an adult when the need arises and for all other times im a hopeless but lovable buffoon.... (somewhere in there lies the truth, now i just have to find it!)....

Being kids at heart is not a problem, i'm very young at heart myself. I would hope that i wouldn't resort to a one digit number , all on dating sites would have 2 lol. I was just wondering if anyone had a same experience, possibly the age gap is too wide, and therein lies the problem.
KNenagh: I was seeing an absolutely lovely guy last year. We met in RL, he thought I was younger, I thought he was older but we were on the same page in a lot of things.
I think the problem there wasn't the age but that we were in different stages of life (he had a kid he brought up on his own/with his parents) and that we simply didn't have enough things in common.
I do notice that I often get chatted up by guys around 30 - not my age preference though.
Again i am in agreement with you. Not having things in common would be a problem at times. I find also that i would be more understanding of their circumstances than they would be of mine,, but that would be a selfish thing i am convinced,

Maybe try speed dating, you are only chatting to people in your age categorey at these events so is great way to meet like minded people :) Theres one this Saturday night in Ballincollig with two age categories for example (30-45, 46-60) :)

Big age gaps, so at 46 you can only speed date with people up to 60, what if everyone is near 60

Why O why are there never any speedriding events held in this country? If ya think about it,compatibility in all areas is desirable goal for many folks. It works as follows..starts the same as speeddating and then after everyone chooses their prefared match and off they go into a small booth within the pub or where ever the event is being held.Ya get 2mins to sample the goods and they can can make a much more informed choice if they wish to persue anything further with any given person
