I don't know if it's canadian...but really like "Christmas Story" plus several others like "The Cage" etc..

My favorite Canadian movie bar none "Hard Core Logo". Also "Billy Talent" the band took their name from one of band members in the band featured in the film, also Hugh Dillon of the "Headstones" was in film, all you young punks should watch this film.

My choice is "Joshua, Then And Now" with James Wood and Alan Arkin. Based on Mordecai Richler's book of the same name. It won at Cannes as well. Brilliant flick, even 20 years later.
