I am wondering why more folks on this site don't seem to use the ecards much. I think it can be a fun way to make a friend smile or even to break the ice with someone. What are your thoughts on this?

I would think that you can say so much more with a card that says something to a person online than to send them a virtual flower. But thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts

serene56: You're welcome, but I won't bother next time

ummmm the thank you was NOT to you serene56. I actually thought your response had NOTHING to do with the question. what your response showed was that you seem to want to do nothing but create drama where none is wanted. I strongly suggest you get a life but what I suspect will happen is you will continue to flap hot air through your lips as you don't appear to understand how to follow a topic nor do you appear to have anything intelligent to say
my response was to the man who stated that he thought sending flowers was a better option
I do hope however that you seek help for your obvious issues about following and participating in a subject as we have enough drama online and you are one of the folks who appear to like to feed into the unwanted drama
sorry, no players in your sick little game here

KNenagh: They're a great way of sending willy pics around.

Never broke the ice with me though.

so far I have only sent them to friends but on other sites, it is a common way that friends exchange greetings. we tend to find funny pictures and send them to each other. of course there is no limit on the number of them we can send on other sites
but thank you for sharing your thoughts on this

unlaoised: Why are you hiding posts? It's the quickest way to get people reading your thread, I suppose?

as this is a topic, meaning that folks talk about what the topic is, the ONLY post I hid were the ones who OBVIOUSLY are ONLY here to create drama and flap hot air through their lips in order to see what sort of reaction they get
their drama is not welcomed here. this is a topic about what makes someone send or not send an ecard
what I CHOSE to remove were those types of comments. what we consider to be the drama queen sort of things. the post that some folks who have no life and no clue that other folks use the net to actually share ideas and not see nonsense posted that has nothing to do with the topic
if you care to create a post that has nothing but nonsense and drama on it well that one is on you
for me, I choose to hear valid responses to the topic
so go off with your little drama queens if that is your choice
you have the freedom to CHOOSE to not reply to someone's topic. what you don't have is the right to dictate what responses are shown in that topic when the only ones that are being hidden are the ones that have NOTHING to do with the topic and EVERYTHING to do with the crap drama that some folks who don't have much of a life, choose to do online
I take a stance against that sort of crap
so I welcome you to not so much as have to read another of my post
it's simple
you see something with my name on it
you don't click to see what is there
although I have taken the time to respond to you, I neither am obligated nor desiring to defend my own options to post any topic I choose and if the responder is someone seeking nothing but attention who has nothing constructive to add to the topic, the YES I REMOVE THAT NONSENSE FROM THE POST

A common complaint about CS is that people don't reply to emails.
I wonder, would they reply to an ecard, or would you simply be putting more effort into being ignored? dunno

I sure get what you mean about folks not responding to emails as that often happens. but the way I saw these cards is as a great way to send a friend a smile. I enjoy finding funny pics, turning them into ecards, or whatever a site refers to the ecards as, and sending them to some friend who perhaps needs a smile or encouragement. it also tends to be a good way to start a quick chat with someone who may only have a moment available to catch up
I was a bit surprised on this site not to see the ecards utilized more so I thought I would ask folks why they do or don't use them.
I can sure understand why you would not use them much if folks don't respond to the emails. The not responding thing we ought to post in another topic and find out why folks choose to not respond. I try to respond to every email but, again, perhaps we start another topic on that one too lol

I've got most of the world blocked out so I doubt I'll be receiving an Ecard.lol

I think it's a nice gesture though, and I did send my son one through his email the other day cause he seemed a little down about something.

It's nice to know that when life appears to be rough to receive a cheer me up now and then.

I am glad you got to send your son a card. that was sort of my point about being able to send them to someone we care about. The idea of breaking the ice, I still think, is a great way to start. find a funny ecard and send it to someone you may want to get to know. I also like that you can send them to someone off the site. that's a unique feature of this site that I have not seen on some of the other sites.

thanks for taking the time to respond.

I do wonder also, off this topic, what makes you opt not to hear from folks all over the world?? I leave my message open as I do enjoy hearing from folks from all over. I am just curious as to why you would opt not to accept the messages. feel free to drop me a message if you want and we can talk about that there. who knows, maybe we even open up another forum post on that topic. it is nice to share thoughts and see why folks make the choices they make on how they spend their time online :)

I am not saying it is not your right to choose to do whatever works best for you Miss C. I do want to throw this thought out to you. Perhaps you are blocking out the bad but perhaps you may also be blocking out some of the good
Mostly I just wish for you to be happy and to do what you need to do to cope with the world as I do understand it to be a hard place sometimes
my only wish for you is that you are happy in whatever you choose to do :)

I fully understand you are not saying that I don't have my right to do whatever is right for me.

I'm happy with my choices.
