The war to stopped all wars ended. But that war didn't work well to stop more wars. My old man was born that same year, later his generation put on boots to go and fight a bigger war.

The further we look back in time, it seems everyone was fighting, and fighting for survival.
And on an individual basis you could get robbed anytime you traveled near or far.
Things have got relatively better, but still its no where near what we would like it to be.

John McCrae "In Flanders Fields" is a war poem in the form of a rondeau, written during the First World War by Canadian physician Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae. He was inspired to write it on May 3, 1915, after presiding over the funeral of friend and fellow soldier Alexis Helmer, who died in the Second Battle of Ypres.

I think it took both world wars for Humanity to realise the power at its fingertips.
Before The Great War they had made all this technical advancement and yet their tactics, their strategy and their overarching psychology was backward. The Edwardians had become so immersed in the free-for-all of consumerism, globalism, hyper-individualism and self-indulgence that they ceased to evolve. They made little good on the opportunities which modern science had made possible, and they turned all their progress into disaster. A disaster needed to shake things up.
