ok providing you do a lot of motorway driving . But with the new carbon filter fitted from the exhaust manifold There is a FILTER. which is to prevent high carbon emmisions from leaving the car exhausts = EUROPEAN LEGISLATION . IT can totally stop your car if you only do small trips on a weekly basis. ITS a godsend to garages. As they will carry out what is called REGENERATION . to clear the filter. The normal charge =between £80 to £100 . So if you are like me just doing normal mileage. A petrol car is more advisable

That's why I'm running a 2003 diesel and not a 2006 one.

The 2006 one is faster, but the earlier model does more mpg, the engine lasts longer and it has no stupid DPF to go wrong.

yes thanks LINT . YES we are just getting pushed into the manufacturers= You take what we give you NO spare wheel . No ashtrays/ No lighters fitted. We must be such a tolerant nation . Anyway You know the score. take care Donnie
