I love my idiot box and cable! Big Bang Theory, Tonight Show, Madam Secretary, Eastenders, Dexter, Six Feet Under, Wire, Downton Abbey, Outlander, and occasionally I watch those conspiracy theorists - CNN.

I'm a news, history and military channel junkie but I don't have two huge HD TVs
My clock radio is set to NPR. I watch CNN, Aljaseera America, Big Bang Theory, Judge Judy, CNBC for the stock market, LINK TV, Most Shocking, Shark Tank, The Proffit, Jeopardy. I don't watch FOX News or Huckabee. I can't stand Family Feud.
I usually check it for the first 5 minutes of the noon report. Anything truly earth shaking will probably be mentioned then. However if they are talking about Hollywood or sports (which is the same thing - entertainment) I turn it off. Usually they do cover Earthquakes, tidal waves and nuclear events okay.

wow yer gonna think this old country boy is from the stone age, but the only two shows that I have ever heard off is the tonight show and cnn
seriously get most stuff from drudge, infowars, wnd, here, and whats great about forums you get more than one opinion, makes you think outside the box, sadly the bozo box days are over.

I dont like my tv off, something keeps watching me.
Seriously, im a comedy fan, do anything for a laugh, even flip through 2,000 channels on the set.
Nature channels, the science and astro physics, quantum mechanics, one local channel even has an expert in hand to hand combat teaching numerous death blows and knife fighting. Really, really, sickening after awhile.

Jean I could swear I saw you on a late night show about a week ago.
I watch the news on tv, listen to the radio, watch current events programmes, read newspapers, read internet news- to get a more rounded, multi-dimensional view of what is happening in the world.

When I seriously need to know something I read BBC, Reuters and NPR online.
When I listen to the radio it's NPR. When I am just browsing the net I read the news service related to the search engine or home page I am on, but just take it for what it's worth....
JeanKimberley: some of those radio shows are great! I don't Yahoo, it's too..... I don't know.... I was going to say "keeping track of my browsing history and conforming ads that are targeted and know a lot about my privacy.....
and then I thought, what the goodness who am I to worry now about my privacy.... I work for the local government, and have a Facebook page, and tell everyone my business....
what is on Yahoo's homepage, usually?
I use Yahoo Canada, which usually has more Canuck content, on top of the usual celebrity worship stuff.

I gotta try it.... I've only got 15 minutes left in my day that isn't working, eating, sleeping or watching television..... I should be able to fit it in.....

good question crayons, For me I many times hear of things here and then check it out if I feel the need. Being that said I have not had a tv connection for s few years now and the radio in the truck usually is tuned into a music station. I was hooking up a turntable to a friends computer at their home and almost felt strange as her tv was on some news channel and even the commercials seemed strange to me.
Media: almost none. I find I'm happier that way. Besides, if anything important happens I'm sure I'll find out. Now, if I could only unlearn what a Kardashian is...
