In response to: yum yum

They are full of nutrients,

I don't like them soggy or soft,I like them steamed and not boiled away and the nutrients lost in the water, but the water they steamed or boiled in makes a bop nice gravy when added,

I like sprouts just cooked firm .

thumbs up

Most things are best served firm.

Fry up some finely chopped onion and teeny bacon pieces, and toss into Brussels.... yum

Or just toss the brussels, whatever floats your boat.

uh oh

Yea like the sprouts firm,,,I made veggie stew today but turned it into a soup,

I blended it and was like eating baby food,

Put in it,

4 chopped carrots,onion,4 small baby spuds,,soup mix broth with barley and lentils,

Pepper, salt, turmeric, tomato Heinz ketchup, tin of Heinz vegetable soup,

It was lovely then I blended it,didnt like it then,

I ate it with whole meal broepwn bread,,

Very filling.

I just used what I had in till I shop tommorrow,

Think ill get some more as I left half of it not blended in my big pot,

No meat today I went veggie and spared my cat,

rolling on the floor laughing

A word of Caution,though!

Another reason not to eat sprouts: Overdose lands Scotsman in hospital

Brussels sprouts are rich in vitamin K, which can interfere with blood thinning medication
This interaction led to one man from Ayrshire being hospitalised after his condition dramatically worsened.

The warning came after a man from Ayrshire was hospitalised after eating a plateful of the festive greens.

He had been fitted with a mechanical pump to help move blood from the lower chambers of his heart, after suffering heart failure last year.

He had also been prescribed anticoagulants, which thin the blood, and his dose was monitored once or twice a week.

But he was admitted to the specialist heart unit at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, after his condition dramatically worsened.

Doctors could not work out why the medication was not keeping his blood thin until they discovered he had been eating too many sprouts.

The vegetable contains high levels of vitamin K, a chemical the body uses to promote blood clotting.

Consultant cardiologist Dr Roy Gardner said: 'Patients who are taking anticoagulants are generally advised not to eat too many green leafy vegetables, as they are full of vitamin K, which antagonise the action of this vital medication.'............

I read comrades informative one and yes an overdose of sprouts wouldn't do ones blood good,

People should check with dr google to make sure is it safe to eat sprouts lots and lots while on medication,

Maybe one sprout could make one go green,
