It's not a bad thing to be single. Wrong company is
but once we have signed up for it, can be a while to swim free again 
so to find positive in being alone is great and helps prevent ending in bad company just out of desperation, at least in my view

Being single is not the problem - being lonely is. So if you are ok with your own company, cooking for one, and listening to the silence of your home, go with it - nothing wrong with that.
I was fine with it for a long, long time. But then the silence became deafening, and once it does, it's very hard to enjoy the silence again.

I have actually been sort of a wild horse all my life through, finally trying to declare a home pasture, and so far so good - I like the Irish grass lots!
