Lookin4missright: god bless him too

I did learn a few things from him over the years.

Those that have seen me dance know one of those things.

One of the others was limiting my singing in public to times of excessive alcohol.

And it does bring back memories of a mate back in the 70s who we only knew as "Magoo." Whenever a Cocker song came on at the Engadine Hotel, he would get up and mime it to perfection...all of the Cocker movements.

I remember one Friday night when he got up and the new publican, Elizabeth Ryan (she had been the publican at The Grand, Sydney when I drank there - love this old timers when I remeber stuff from so long ago) tried to bar him for his "spastic dancing" and it resulted in mega-uproar from everyone.

went down to Melbourne last week to say good bye to my mum, bloody death is an indiscriminate thing ...

not knowing which day may well be your last is a blessing ....

I wonder how older people seem to sense their time is coming ...

Just got a call about one of the Adams family passing on. It was my uncle Michael who passed away yesterday. He was a guy who did 2 tours of Vietnam in Hueys and came back normal (from what we could see) .... although hated having to do it.

I was only looking at a photo last week of me posing at Sydney Airport in front of a TAA Fokker Friendship way back in the 60s heading off to Canberra alongside the Adams family returning from overseas duties (they had been based in Malaysia for a number of years during those policing operations).

So then I think about Aunty Jean, Uncle Eric, step-Dad Rex who, like many others, see that Xmas is a milestone-of-happiness to make before they leave us.
