Around here, New Years is a home based event. Neighbors might launch fireworks or fire guns in the air at the moment of the New Year... For me, New Years is a time to recover from the Holidays. A resurrection of-sorts. Might cook a little Beef Stew for New Years... A ritual in some parts of the U.S., is eating Black-eyed peas on New Years Day, it will bring Good Luck throughout the year...

Generally, I don't go out that night. I am not much good at pretences of love to all and sundry
I will probably watch a film like Die Hard or sonething like that , and ignore the whole thing

Hiya skip,
sounds like fun, enjoy! In Ireland for new year's eve for the first time. Will be spending the night with friends, no fixed plans yet as one of them has to go a fair distance and we have to see how the weather is that night.
Either a charity ball or we go for a nice meal and my fav place to chat and dance.
