I turned very quickly once I got my kindle.
They are great. So easy to use...brilliant!

its the wide variety of books you can get and the fact that they are low prices and in some cases free that helps

And the fact that you can be lying on a beach in Spain, and download a new book or daily newspaper at the click of a button!
I see the practical side of kindles, definitely, but what will you do during a zombie apocalypse? Electricity would surely be down, and you'd only have one kindle to throw, instead of hundreds of books after having found shelter in your library!

Have never read a book on a kindle but would miss going to the library or rooting round the thrift shops for books

I too Have received a kindle .. christmas 20012 from the childer's as an avid book reader I found it a bit bewildering at times ..but I soon got used to it . the books are cheaper(on amazon.com), and just last month my kindle went haywire ..a black blurry line appeared ,( it never fell) 
on the side leaving me to guess the last word of the sentence 
it's managable but fustrating.I will get a new one this year sometime :) I do still from time to time beg/borrow/buy a paperback.

Though I've never used a kindle, so based on totally biased research, book
My son is an avid reader he uses kindle and books too,
I think ill just stick with my books ,I like rooting in second hand book stores,
Books are handy too to pass around.

Sure you don't get the same heat from burning a kindle and if you drop a book the cover doesn't smash on you.

... and you can't dog-ear a Kindle to mark your place

I have a Kindle at home that my dad gave me - still in the box, barely charged it once to have a nose around. Not for me.
