By the way, thought the film was good craic, loved the bit he stood at his front door to the crowd outside, with the two pizza boxes in his hands with the scriblings on them from the "man in the sky".

Yeah!
It actually made me consider if religion wasn't all bad
I just mean about the part where he told his mother about the happy place she would be going to, instead of an eternity of nothingness. ..

Well, some of the things we tell are white lies, some are big whoppers and some are perceptions. The last one is dangerous territory because they may not be the truth, but the truth as it exists in your own head, you know.
The English language is perfectly suited to evade telling what one really thinks. I'm not kidding. As a matter of culture, by extension, nobody really expects to hear the truth, even if they say they want to hear it. There are ways to circumscribe the truth so that it gets across in a polite way
Seriously, I have been threw this. I am one hundred. Thus I have an issue every now and again. I say, be honest, from jump. The truth does set you free. Being honest with yourself, forgiveness. It is a long journey , yet being honest is a door I choose to open and walk threw.

I agree. That is what we should be doing, but living In society, and within the norms of society, it is almost a necessity to tell lies, even if they are only telling your friend that her new hairstyle isn't as grotesque as you think it is!

mollybaby: So, how many times a day do you think you lie?
Or can you even count that high?
I'm negotiating with a hospital right now. The cards are clearly stacked in their favor. So I say whatever is necessary. Truth, lies.. chocolate fudge.

We don't realise how many white lies, and evading of the truth, we do on a daily basis
Think how different even a tiny portion of our lives, CS, would be if we told the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, all the time!
And as for in our everyday life...and relationships....
