pedro27: a list of tools i need to start getting, a good lawnmore, elertic hedge strimmer. shovels, forks,picks,a good spade. wheel barrow,a rack, bush man saw.

can you NAME a few more tools?

I would advise you to get a good leaf blower!! ie a stihl, as this will save loads of time on the clean up !! but most important is a good courteous respectfull manner, an be fair don't rip people off!! as you will be mainly dealin with women as your customers!! good luck !!!

forget electric strimmers!! you need petrol one !!!!!

It sounds like a nice way of making money, probably will be seasonal, but nice to get paid and work on the tan at the same time. If the hound brings in a few quid on bets too, you will be rolling in it Pedro. thumbs up

You come from construction.
There is a enormous difference in philosophy between garden design and construction.
Construction is dealing with dead objects and immediate decay.
Once you finish your job and walk away it is starting to crumble, no ways around that.
Gardening is the opposite.
It's alive and growing, once you planted the garden that's when it starts. It is not finished and never should be.
The pavings, patios etc are the boring parts of gardening, dead.
But hey, luck has it for you, thats what most people find the important part of their garden for the rest they lack vision.
Proclaiming to go and do all the jobs cash in hand on a public forum sounds like a very wise thing to do...
Anyways, while I wish you good luck with your planned enterprise I doubt you will do it and are just looking for a justification for buying a jeep you probably can't afford. I might be wrong.
