I just don't get this cartoon SOH.
I've seen some intelligent people disappear from the forums in the few weeks I've been here.. I wonder why?

I actually kind of like the idea of a story thread, but TBH, and also partly answer the question from the other gentleman about the level of dislog in here...I think it's important to remember that there is a vast array of ages and interests, not to mention personalities on here.

If the conversation becomes uninteresting because it is irrelevant or too youth oriented (teenage style) , which it does sometimes, I would concentrate on the regulars I know here from the past and also maybe create a few of my threads with topics that probably will not appeal to those with a teen mentality.

I have also left the threads for long periods when things got dicey or uninteresting. So I completely understanddunno

those are just a few suggestions on how I have handled things as one who has been here along time (on & off)wave

First of all , thank you for referring to me as a gentleman.
I'm not disputing the fact that there is a diverse audience on the forums but what disappoints me is the threads that have been posted recently. They have little relevance to everyday life or are just an imaginary situation as this post suggests.

After being on here for awhile, one gets to know certain posters' styles, even when they attempt to re-invent themselves with a new name and profile. We can choose to change the channel and that's what I usually do....just not pay attention to certain posters. wine

Probably not unless you show a picture...then some interest may occur only from those who cannot contain the laughter...rolling on the floor laughing

I agree, at times the topics become silly or stale. I myself have been on here for so long that I find it a challenge sometimes to think up new ideas. Then I will start a thread and often (not always) it will be hijacked by 2 or 3 individuals with private "inside" banter. I am loathe to ban typically good people who have got a little off track but, that makes the thread harder for new comers to follow and contribute to.

I would suggest that we all take a look at how we contribute to threads and keep private banter to no more than one or two comments that are off topic. Are we being inclusive rather than allowing private, non topical banter to make others feel like they are interrupting a private party? Are we staying true to the discussion?

Even the OP of this thread we have veered from so perhaps we should start a thread on how to create new threads and contribute in good spiritdunno laugh wave

Oh and yes, you do seem a gentleman. You're welcome :)
