The preacher's Sunday sermon was "Forgive Your Enemies." He asked how many of the congregation have forgiven their enemies? About half held up their hands. He then repeated his question. Now about 80 % held up their hands. He then repeated his question once more. All responded, except one elderly lady.
Preacher: "Mrs. Johnson, are you not willing to forgive your enemies?"
Mrs. Johnson: "I don't have any."
Preacher: "Mrs. Johnson that is very unusual. How old are you?"
Mrs. Johnson: "Ninety-three," she replied.
Preacher: "Mrs. Johnson, please come down in front and tell the congregation how a person cannot have an enemy in the world?"
The little sweetheart of a lady tottered down the aisle and said, "I outlived every one of those old bats!"

Sista,
If someone put you in to a bag and stabbed the hell out of you (but missed all the vital organs and so you lived, but from it you became disabled), and done for no reason at all...would you forgive them ?

It takes strong person to forgive and Forgiving is not forgetting. It's letting go of the hurt for it's own freedom sake...

I do forgive my enemies. Exacting my monstrous revenge upon them is how I get over it.

Sure I would. Forgiveness is not for the benefit of the person who did the stabbing or whatever the mean deed... forgiving my enemy is for my benefit for the healing process physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. When we truly forgive others from our hearts of their deeds toward us, forgetting is automatically also included... otherwise, you have not truly forgiven that person if it does not include forgetting as well.

One should forgive one's enemies, but not before they are hanged." - Heinrich Heine

Good question Harry!
Let this crime occur again then ?
That is an open invite to all the hoodlums from around the world who are reading this above which you wrote.
It makes a mockery of the judicial system too. You must love pain.

And why did/dont God forgive the devil ?
It simply doesn't make for a good story. You have to have an antagonist, or things get boring really quickly. Mind you, the old testament was kinda cool in a way....

Bunga, this is NOT about enemies of war, this is about forgiving your personal enemies who effect your daily living... so don't get the two enemies confused. There is much more involved when it comes to forgiving your enemies of war, then those enemies in your personal life when at war with them.

I forgive myself, just as God forgives me daily. The rest? I keep a leery eye on them.

This poost is a reply to Sistas last post (it was too long to quote to post, an error came up)
Look, crime and punishment...the rule of law to be upheld it requires the victim to speak up against the person who did the crime. If you have truly forgiven, then you will not act as a witness.
The devil (Lucifer) was indeed Gods most high esteemed angel. Yet god asked him to bow down to "Clay" (Adam his newest creation) when an angel is made of "Light". Who is higher Clay or light? (of course its an Angel). This was Gods wrong doing. And if God forgives all then he should do as he says he does.
Your trying to wriggle out of this and yet again you will...so I will leave you to play alone.
